Dong Quai is one of the Chinese herbs in the Women’s Health Soup and it is considered safe for most people. However, there are some specific populations who should not use this herbal remedy.
- Women with breast cancer, ovaries or uterus as dong quai can act like estrogen.
- During pregnancy or while nursing
- Women with uterine fibroids or with heavy menstrual periods as it can make bleeding worse.
- Patients who are taking blood thinners
