  • 1.5 cups flour
  • 3.5 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
    or sugar alternative
  • 1.24 cups milk
    or milk alternative
  • 3 tablespoon butter and extra to fry pancakes
  • ¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup syrup or honey, jam or whatever the like on top. (optional)

  • In a large bowl sift together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
  • Make a well in the flour mixture and add egg, milk and melted butter and mix.
  • Add chocolate chip or whatever else you desire and gently stir mix.
  • Place a teaspoon of butter in pan and heat to medium and add about ¼ cup batter to pan.
  • Let pancake cook and watch the bubbles in the batter, when the bubbles start to slow down in formation, it is time to flip pancake (about 2 minutes).
  • Flip pancake and cook for about 1 minute longer and place on plate to keep warm. Finish frying up the rest of the pancakes. (Please note that after some time butter tends to brown so you will need to rinse pan and restart with new butter after a few pancakes.)
  • Serve stacks of pancakes with butter and syrup, jam, honey or whatever toppings you desire. Or if you want your kids to eat more fruit then make a happy face and serve. Enjoy!
