In reply to Raul. Thank you Raul. Remember the first time we were served this at a Chinese restaurant in H. It took me some time to figure this was just romaine lettuce and not some unique Chinese vegetable. So good.

My Malay girlfriend cooks every vegetable which struck me as odd. She and I love this dish and the added zing from some chili. She says this is very authentic.

I first experienced cooked Romain in Asia and it surprised my Western sensibilities— but once you taste it it’s very nice.

Thank you for the lettuce. Sometimes romaine lettuce ( outside) leaves are to tough, so I was glad that we can stir fry them. Will try tomorrow. I really like chinese vegetables, and the seasonings. I never know what seasoning is correct so usually use some of all that I have. Really like sesame oil, hot oil, 5 spice, etc. Never know if I'm using the right ones or the right amount, but we eat it anyway. Thank you.

I tried grilling Romaine once and wasn't too crazy about it...not very interesting, but then it was just grilled Romaine - no seasonings. Your stir fried Romaine looks amazing! Love the seasoning and dressing and chile flakes. This would make an excellent side for just about any dish! Thanks for sharing this Bobbi!
