I'm just catching up with all your travels! I visited Tuscany a few years ago, your post brings all the lovely memories flooding back. I ate a lot of tomatoes, too, and my favourite salumi is bresaola. I've bought it a couple of times at home, but with mixed results!

Next time you go back home to Yokohama I hide in your carry on bag and when I plan to go back to Italy I will save room in mine for you to come along. I think that sometimes we put off the things in our lives that we really want to do because of family situations, work, etc. but there is nothing like the present to live our lives.
