I love your fun twist on chicken and dumplings... especially your lovely homemade sliders. These really are the star of the dish and they add so much comforting coziness to this soothing dish! I can't think of a better way to feed the gang on a cold winter day!

My French Canadian mother was always trying to make sliders “like his mother used to make”. Sh never was able to make them “right”.

One day, she was running behind and didn’t have time to make sliders. Do, she took a package of lasagna noodles and broke the into the broth. My father ate some and looked at her and said “Now them’s sliders”.

She never told him her secret “recipe”. A great family story.

My grandma used to make this for big family gatherings. This recipe is very close to hers except she never wrote it down. My mom learned it from watching and taking notes. My grandma was taught when she worked as a cook in a French restaurant in the 1930’s. She always called it chicken and dumplings. She used one extra ingredient that set hers apart. Fun to know it really was a French dish
